Learn everything you need to know to safely create beautiful and practical handmade soaps with food grade oils & lye plus phthalate-free fragrances. You will learn a soap making method which is safe, efficient, & fun!
 
The soap making basics will be presented LIVE on Zoom in a simple and user-friendly method. Learn a simple soap making method taught by an instructor with 21 years of soap making experience.  I will mail you a soap making kit which makes approximately two pounds of soap. 
 
 You will receive your soap making kit through the mail via priority mail or you can pick it up in Roswell, GA. We will meet up on zoom on a flexible Saturday 11 am-1 pm which works for you and other participants. 
Scent choices are Grapefruit, Kumquat, Peach, Watermelon, Lemongrass, Vanilla Bean (colors your soap brown), Lemon, Patchouli, Tobacco, Rosemary & Mint, & Dragon's Blood. Please specify your choice when checking out. 
Color choices are: Pink, Blue, Purple, Green, Yellow, & Orange, & Red.  Please specify your choice when checking out. 
 

What do I need to get started?

1 Stainless steel or plastic whisk or stick blender (Immersion blender)

1 Long handled wooden or sturdy plastic spoon

Soap molds

You can make a soap mold out of recycled items.  Suggested molds are empty single serving applesauce containers, plastic frozen dinner trays, 1 quart rectangular food storage containers, empty 1 quart waxed cardboard almond milk/soup stock/creamer cartons, cheese box (make sure you line it with a plastic bag or freezer paper), small boxes (lined with a reused plastic shopping bag), reuse that paper cup from the coffee shop for a round soap, Pringles cans, (etc… There are so many possibilities. Be sure that any plastic is durable enough to withstand heat of approximately 170 degrees. You can also purchase a 2 pound capacity wooden mold or silicone soap mold. In addition, many beautiful plastic and silicone molds are available with just about any design you can imagine.

Plastic mixing containers which hold approximately 1-2 quarts

Rubber gloves 

The best ones are the longer ones which protect your forearms like the ones used for washing dishes.  You can find these at the Dollar Tree 

Measuring spoons

1 one quart Pyrex glass or high density plastic container to mix lye and water
